Default Changing the speed on a DSE 5310 Controller on EMS 2 Engine

Can you change the speed of an EMS 2b controlled engine from 1500RPM to 1800 RPM when it has a DSE 5310 Controller?

You do not need the DCU to change the speed to 1800RPM, if you change the engine speed in the DCU, the change will reset when you shutdown the engine.
The good news is you can do this using the controller and nothing else!
The main trouble on this module is its not really where you would expect this setting to be.
In the DSE 5310 configuration software, go to "Edit Configuaration" >>> "Generator" >>> "Generator Frequency Alarms"
In this section, right at the bottom, there is an "Alternative Frequency Select" section.
The check box called "Enable on Module" is greyed out. This cannot be changed from here however, it is used for indiction only.
The second box is a drop down box, which should read "50Hz Norm / 60Hz Alt".
Given that, you can now enable the "Alternative speed" by using the digital inputs.
In the software, select one of the digital inputs that you are not using and from the drop down list select "Alternative frequency". The default is "Closed to activate", which will mean you needing to put a link between digital input and negative. As you don't really need it switchable, you can select this as "open to activate". That will make it change speed without a link, as the circuit will of course normally be open.
You will then have to change the voltage to suit and the voltage trips in the software.
If you have any problems, please let me know and I will try and help, but that should work for you.
