AMF Stands for Automatic Mains Failure.
ATS Stands for Automatic Transfer Switch.
In order to have a generator system work automatically, then two parts of the system are needed. You need the generator to have "Auto Start" or "Remote Start". This allows the generator to be started remotely, usually by a 2 wire "volts free" contact.
You then also use an ATS panel to monitor the incoming mains. When the incoming mains supply fails, the ATS panel should break the contact and use the remote start signal to start the generator. When the generator is up to speed, the generator uses another volts free contact to tell the ATS panel it is ready to take load and the contactors switch to the generator.
So in summary, ATS is just the Transfer Switch, AMF is the complete system.
There are variations on the above, for example with the mains sensing in the main generator panel. We don't use this method because we do not like the idea of 3 phase mains current in the generator panel. We think it is much safer to keep the mains up to the ATS panel and the generator power the generator side.
Thanks for your immediately reply,i really appreciated it.
And i bet your answer is the best one for my question.
