Default Perkins 1106 Engines - good or choose something different?

I am looking into buying a diesel generator around 150kVA. Are the 1106 Perkins engines a good choice?
    Are they reliable?
    I have seen:

    1106C-E66TAG3 - 150kVA
    1106C-E66TAG4 - 180kVA

    What do you think?

The 1106 range has been about now for a couple of years. It is not a popular range, but I have expereinced no problems with it in the time it has been sold.

This man had some pipe problems, but I dont think that was caused by the engine:

If you are looking for something bullet proof at 150kVA I would personally go for a 1006TAG2 engine. These engines have been around for many years and are excellent.
The 1006TAG2 is however not emission compliant, which means its only good in the EU for a stationary application.
