    What is the possible cause/causes of intermittent Tripping of Differential Current Protection of Alternator.?
    I have this issue occassionally..

    The cause is likely to be a differential current fault! It provides rapid detection of generator Φ to Φ or Φ-G faults.

    How often is it happening? I assume the generator is big?

    It's 1.2Mw 480v Alternator.
    I performed insulation test from phase to phase and phase to neutral.
    The readings were 1.2 megaohms from phase to G.>is this the possible cause?
    Ph to ph is still acceptable=10megaohms/volt.
