    Default Detroit diesel series 60

    Dear all,
i have a detroit engine(gov:ddec iv) with an kohler alternator (avr:c-255670) to be paralleled with the mains(utility). I had problems with the speed control. The spped was not steady while i was controlling from gensys 2.0 analogue outputs. Is it better to go for j 1939 protocol for speed control. Suggestions pls

J1939 speed control is generally very easy and stable in my experience of it. I would recommend using it if available.
Not all J1939 engines support fine speed control down the CAANBUS, so you should check with Detroit if this should work before banging your head!

You might like to post back if you find it works, then other people hunting for the same question will also get to know if it works on this kind of engine.
