Newage Stamford MSC144E help needed
We have a Newage Stamford MSC144E, 9.3 KVA generator attached to a lister HR2A.
Am looking for information as whether it is possible to convert the output from 220 volt single phase to 3 phase.
Don't have any info on this unit apart from the date of manufacture 10/87.
If anyone can help on this it would be much appreciated.

I would guess so, how many ends has it got coming from the stator onto the terminal rail?
if it is 12 then yes it should be, if it is 6 then probably not.
Also on the side, does the sticker give a winding number?

Thanks Charlie
Just had a look at generator, this has a winding number of 211.
Inside it already has the 3 phase fuse board and a sx440 panel installed, but not sure of the configuration for the wiring on the main terminal rail or how the sx440 should be wired to give an output of 440v.
what other circuitboards are needed if any?
Looks as though it has been configured to run single phase so any help in restoring it to 3 phase would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Derek Rush
P.S. Any idea of the KVA that this should generate?

I cannot actually find anything anywhere on this model or winding I am afraid.
You would need to reconnect the ends first if possible, how many ends are coming off the stator? The SX440 can be connected for 3 phase, but you do need to sort the terminals out first.

There are 12 wires of the stator, each still has indicators on, what is the standard config for these sets?
Have photos of the unit but unable to load onto this forum as too large.

There is quite a large file limit on here, it must be big. resize it and try again.
If you have 12 ends it should be OK. 3 phase in the UK is normally Parallel Star connected.
