Volvo Powered 600 KW Generator
Hello,
Can anyone give me a look at Reliability and Maintenance Issues of Volvo powered 600 KW diesel generators? Anything you can give me in terms or reliability, maintenance, or even operating costs in comparison to other manaufacturers would be great!
Thanks

Which engine are you using?
Volvo reliability is very good, take for example all the trucks running on Volvo engines, there must be millions around the world.
Where are you using it? As far as I know Volvo only offer Tier 2 compliant models in their range. Compliant engine models do need good quality fuel to the required specifications and looking after. If you are in the EU or the USA, this should be no issue and it certainly will not be significantly more taxing than looking after a car engine (although like all generators, servicing should be carried out at the designated number of hours).
If you are in a place that is out of the way and you cannot guarantee your fuel is good and clean and free from water etc, then I would suggest a non-compliant model, which you may or may not be able to get from Volvo.
If you can't get one from Volvo then I would try a Perkins 2806 engine.
For continious running the Volvo spares are very expensive, 3-4 times the price of Perkins.

Volvo diesel engine generator provides reliable quality and services. Smart engine design and it provides OEM services. Operating cost is high but service is best.
