    Default Identify Water Pumps

    Could any of you Perkins experts help identifying at least an application for this style pump. All I have to go on is
    1983-1992 236 Eng, Low Position Pump - What does Low Position Pump mean?

    I would think its on a 4.236 and the various 236 engines. I am sure someone can probably do better than that though....

    Hi

    It would be a water pump for a version of Perkins 4.236 engine. Are there any markings on it as Perkins often have the part number stamped into the casting and then we could tell you exactly what it fits. There are lots of special builds depending on what the original engine was intended to be installed in and this is what the low position refers too. Some components such as pumps or alternators etc are moved around on the build to say avoid a cross member or ease access or installation of the motor.
