    Default troubleshooting a generator

Hi all... I have a Powerboss 7k watt genset, model 030220. The engine runs fine but makes 0 voltage. I suspect the voltage regulator. Are there tests I can do on the regulator itself to verify whether it is bad?

I have checked continuity in the wiring (Hot and neutral through the generator, same through the breaker side) and it all looks good. Brushes are fine as well. No visible corrosion, no signs of overheating.

I can take a high level of detail and I have wiring diagrams available.

Thanks all, any info would be a great help

I dont know the specific generator, but a voltage of 0 would indicate a bad alternator in all probability.

Even with a bad AVR, you should get some voltage when the engine is running.
Is it a branded alternator (Mecc Alte, Leroy, Marrathon, Stamford etc), or is it a cheaply built one?

    Regards
