Status: The Corona Virus and Welland

This page is to update customers about the current situation at Welland Power.

Q: What is the Corona Virus?

A: COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It's caused by a virus called coronavirus. The virus is generally not serious for people unless they are in an at risk group, however for people in these groups it can prove fatal.

Q: Why may this have an effect on deliveries and contracts.

A: While Welland is currently trying to deliver as many shipments as possible on time, all contracts should be considered in "force majeure" due to the nature of the current situation in Europe and the UK. Government advice is restricting the movement of people and materials and therefore causing shortages of products and labour to assemble those products. The current government advice can be found here.

Due to the virus in other regions, shipping capacity is also limited and shipping rates to some destinations have more than doubled.

Q: Can I find out the status of my order?

A: Please contact your account manager for your order status. Please note if your account manager is directly impacted by this virus he will not be at work for at least 14 days.

This impact means that there may not be sufficient staff to respond to every detailed inquiry at every moment in time and replies may take longer. Priority will be given to providing updates on current orders where applicable, but not more than weekly.

Q: Can I increase the prioity of my order?

A: No, the priority and order is fixed in production; every customer would like their order to be given priority, but clearly this is not possible.

Q: Can I cancel my order?

A: You may be able to cancel your order; depending on its current status. If it is almost or partially complete this will not be possible. Please contact your account manager for more assistance.
