Green Diesel Generators
When people think 'green', they often overlook diesel generators. However, diesel generators can be the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly choice for standby applications, especially when paired with modern fuels such as HVO. With these fuels, diesel generators can achieve near-carbon neutrality while in operation. As a standby option with a reliable grid, they offer low initial costs, the capacity to provide power during prolonged outages, and are easily recyclable, often retaining a high residual value. Welland believes in the protection. of the environment and the urgency of the climate crisis - we are doing the best we can to aid in the fight against climate change and reduce CO2 emissions.
Green Manufacturing
It all starts in our manufacturing facility, where we have over 320kW of solar panels on our roof generating the bulk of our energy needs. The small balance comes from the grid from 100% renewable sources. We keep as many processes as possible in house to give us control, including laser cutting steel using nitrogen generated on site using the green electricity.

Generator Recycling
Diesel generators are primaily made of the base metals iron and copper, with very little electronics by weight. This makes the easy to recycle at the end of the life through already available recycling processes. They also have a scrap value if unable to be sold in working order. This compares favorably to batteries and other more modern technologies.

No Carbon in Standby
A generator for standby use is enviromentally friendly and cheap comapred to other technologies. When the generator is not running, it produces no emmissions and when running on HVO or another green alternative fuel, it can be close to carbon neutral. Diesel does not have to be dirty - the right application and the right use case can lead to a better enviromental outcome.

Exporting For Everyone
Wellands powerful solar array can produce over three times our peak demand. This excess is exported to the grid to help power other applications using our carbon free energy. We export enough energy per year to power over 200 local homes in addition to supplying our own factory. its all part of the Welland Green Mission.
